If you are here, then you are interested in learning more about Macro Nutrition Coaching.  My name is Dr. Kara Williams and I am the CEO of Faith Strong Elite.  Here at Faith Strong our mission is to help women and men on their health and wellness journey through spiritual, physical and nutritional guidance.

 

You may be “stuck” on your weight loss journey like I once was or you may be tired of the “gimmicks” and “fad diets” that are so restricting it’s not even realistic or sustainable. What are MACROS?

The term “macros” are short for macronutrients. Macronutrients make up the three food categories we mostly eat and are the primary source of our energy. The three macronutrients are protein, carbohydrates and fats. 

Why should I track my MACROS?

If you’ve ever tracked calories, then macro tracking is pretty similar.  When counting macros however, I will take your insights and results a step further by helping you gain a better understanding of where your calories should come from (1g of carbs and protein = 4 calories and 1g of fat = 9 calories) and how each macro effects your body. With knowledge and science based macro-coaching you will begin making smarter and healthier food choices that will help you lose fat while also changing your body composition. 

What's the difference between tracking MACROS and tracking calories?

Just because someone counts their calories doesn’t mean that they are eating healthy or eating enough of the right nutrients to reach their health and wellness goals. For example, someone can be on an 1800 caloric deficit diet and meet these calories by consuming chips and snacks alone. With macro tracking, this same person can still be in an 1800 caloric deficit, however with client-specific information (weight, height, age and activity level) the 1:1 macro coaching will help to ensure this person is getting the right amount of carbohydrates to fuel their body, healthy fats and protein to promote muscle building and toning.

Why do I need a MACRO coach?

Taking a leap of faith to adapt to a healthier lifestyle takes a lot of work. But here at Faith Strong Elite you are not alone. Through 1:1 macro coaching you will be given the tools to succeed through education, accountability and motivation. We will teach you how to make healthier food selections and how to track and weigh your food so that you know exactly what your body is consuming. Awareness is key and when you track what you eat you start to take your power back so there’s no room for second guessing yourself or if this will work.
